Poetry I - Here And Hereafter
The Memory Book |
Death is more than the turning of a page
More than the completing of a chapter
It is the finishing of the book
A book you have read so often
And know so very well
You hope it will never come to an end
And then it does
The book must now be placed on the shelf
There with other dear and special friends
You have read and enjoyed along the way
To be taken down from time to time
And lovingly pressed to your bosom
As you recall with deepest fondness
Every word written on those pages
Telling the story of a life well lived
And now forever remembered
In the memory book of your mind

Heaven - What Is It?
|
The place where worship is the commodity
Instead of money
Where there is no past
No hurts
No failures
Where overcoming is over
And believing in faith a visible reality
Where rejection is a word unknown
And acceptance is a forever
Unbound
Unfettered
Unentombed
An existence without an existence
A time without end
Longing long gone
Hopes fulfilled
Peace pure and constant
Where every good feeling
Good thought and expression
Is multiplied into one continuous ecstasy
And every endless moment
Is the feeling of a child
Safe
Secure
Wrapped in a soft, warm mantle
It is the place to be
My home
It's where I'm going
After I finish up here
