Poetry II - Emotions Of
Nature
|
Do
As The Trees Do |
Do
you feel like shouting?
Than go ahead and shout
It's all right!
Do as the trees do
Furiously shake your branches and leaves
Until you get it all out
But don't uproot your roots in the doing!
What about when tears well up in your eyes
And you know you need a good old fashioned cry
Well go ahead and cry
It's all right!
Do as the trees do
Let your tears fall to the ground
One leaf at a time
Until they are all gone
You'll feel much better!
And on those days when nothing seems to go right
No matter how hard you try
And you feel like you want to curl up and die
Well, don't do that
It's not all right!
Instead do as the trees do
Dig your roots in deeply where you are planted
Straighten your trunk as tall as you can be
And loudly proclaim
Listen up world - You're not getting the best of me!

Stillness
In Motion
|
The
days speed by much too swiftly
One bumping into another
As they push their determined way
Off the calendar pages
And yet, in the midst of perpetual motion
God stands immovable
Firmly entrenched in the lighted path ahead
No matter the day or the hour
While our physical being strains ever forward
Keeping pace with mankind's race to survive
It is our spiritual being standing quietly constant
Clothed with the Light that sustains us

Sunshine
Of Friendship
|
In
the oceanic expanse of life
We are infinitesimal grains of sand
Created to bask in the sunshine of friendship
One grain of sand joined with another
We knit together to form a fortress of oneness
As the waves of existence surge toward us
Guided by the wind of the Spirit
Confidently we conquer the rough waves
Riding them toward the protective shores
Of inner strength and fulfilled life
Hand in hand
Heart to heart
No longer alone
Together in the sunshine of friendship
